Positives from Saturday afternoon?? Blackburn Rovers became the first side to stop AFC Bournemouth from scoring at Dean Court this season. Negatives?? We failed to score again.

However, Rovers did come away with a point in the 0-0 draw with Jason Steele making some good saves to keep us in the match but Tom Cairney and Rudy Gestede both had chances to give us the win at the end. Gary Bowyer praised “a great team effort.”

Bowyer told The Official Website: “Tactically the players were magnificent, they were spot on with it.

“Steely has made a couple over very good saves and I thought the two centre-halves were tremendous for us today. It was a great team effort.

A draw might’ve become more at the end with Bowyer insisting that we went to Dean Court looking for all three points, however, he was happy with the one and that was the least that we deserved from it.

Adding: “It is a very good clean sheet for our lads, I have nothing but praise for them. We went to win the game, we were brave and fair play to them.

“A point was the very least we deserved. We had two great chances at the death with Tom’s shot and Rudy’s header.
