Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Jason Brown has extended his contract with the club. The 25-year-old has signed a new three-year contract that will take him though until the summer of 2011.

The Welsh International, formerly with Charlton Athletic and Gillingham has made just one appearance for Rovers in the past 18-months, this being his substitute appearance against Wigan Athletic when he has to come on for the injured Brad Friedel. He became an instantly hero as he saved a penalty and we went on to win 2-1.

Despite his lack of first team football the Rovers number two (behind the awesome Friedel) has shown loyalty to the club that brought him into the Premier League by signing the contract offered to him, and shows that he is prepared to remain even more patient and learn from Friedel.
