Brown Thrilled With First Start

Jason Brown was thrilled with his first start in the English Premier League for Rovers in their 2-1 win at Newcastle United.

The Welsh stopper told Rovers.co.uk – ‘It was unbelievable, it was the first time in a game that the hairs on the back of my neck have stood up.

‘It was great experience for me, it was a shame for Robbo that he has his calf injury, but I’ve come in and I just want to do the best I can.

‘It was a great win for us, a great team performance, we all stuck in there and got what I think was a deserved three points,’

Brown to be fair has been very patient for his chance. He spent 2 and a half seasons
behind the never injured Brad Friedel and didn’t moan once.

He had waited a long time for that and I thought he put in a commanding and assured performance.
