I don’t think it really needs Wes Brown to tell us what we’ll already know, does it! Blackburn most definitely are in ‘a relegation battle’ this season!
Brown had become accustomed to winning trophies at Manchester United but feels his experience of battling relegation with Sunderland could prove crucial to Blackburn this season.
At least he hopes it can….
It is ‘tight’ in the table but as things stand Blackburn are very much in the bottom three with the veteran telling the Lancashire Telegraph.
‘At the moment we`re in a relegation battle. I`ve been there with Sunderland. But I do think there`s games where we could have won. This league, from what I`ve seen up to now, is so tight.’
He went on to add.
‘I`ve seen the higher teams getting beaten by the lower teams and we`ve just got to keep playing how we have been. We need to start scoring some goals and keeping some clean sheets.’
The key to staving off relegation is all ‘staying together’ and ‘believing in each other’ and not letting ‘your head go down.’
Brown went on to add if you can’t do these things ‘it can go a different way.’
After signing a deal in September Brown finally made his Blackburn debut when he played the full 90-minutes of the two-all draw with Oldham in the EFL Trophy in midweek with the 37-year-old hopeful of making his first-team debut next weekend when Brentford come to Ewood Park on 19th November.
‘I`m training so we`ll just see how it goes after the international break. Of course it`s frustrating, but I`m not one to put my head down. I just keep on doing what I`m told to do and hopefully I can be back in the mix for selection.’
Brown’s experience could well help Blackburn in the months ahead but only if he can stay fit, which is easier said than done for the Rovers defender!
