Rovers have today completed their 3rd summer transfer (I am sorry but Myles Anderson still doesn’t count) after announcing that full back Bruno Ribeiro has completed formalities to move to Ewood Park.

Ribeiro successfully completed his trial this month at Rovers and impressed boss Steve Kean with his ball retention – earning him the nickname ‘Denis’ after Manchester United’s Denis Irwin.

So much so that Kean has now snapped him up on a free transfer.

The Rovers official website confirmed – ‘The Brazilian full back arrives on a free transfer and has signed a three-year deal, with the option of a further year after a successful trial with the club.

Ribeiro joined up with Rovers this pre-season, travelling with the rest of the squad for the training camp in Austria and taking part in Rovers’ 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley and the 4-1 win over Kilmarnock last weekend.

The 28-year-old had previously played in his homeland of Brazil for Gremio Barueri, and could be in the squad to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Ewood Park on Saturday.’

The idea is that Bruno will give Michel Salgado competition at right back.
