Despite the fact Bury are battling against relegation it doesn’t mean Blackburn can simply turn up and claim the points this evening.
Elliott Bennett knows a lack of application could see Rovers punished.
When facing Bury it’ll also mean Bennett comes up against a former club. However, this doesn’t mean the forward is anymore keen on victory as he wants Rovers to win whatever the opposition and competition.
He told the Official Website: ‘I want to win every football match, whether that be a friendly or one that gets you three points. Every three points now are worth the same now as they were at the start of the season.
Bury’s visit to Ewood Park represents the start of Blackburn’s run in and it’s one – the run in – Bennett’s looking forward too.
Adding: ‘It’s a really important part of the season, we have 14 games we are all relishing and we look forward to the games ahead.’
From beginning to end Bennett’s expecting Bury to challenge Blackburn so a lack of application will see Rovers punished, but the hope is we’ll do enough to win.
Bennett said: ‘Every team, on their day, can be dangerous. If we don’t apply ourselves and aren’t at it from the first whistle, as we know from times this season, then we’ll be punished. We have to implement our style on them and then hopefully on the day you do enough to get the three points.’
