As a result Jason Lowe, whilst admitting it’s been a ‘difficult period’ for Blackburn so far this season, is confident about Rovers having enough quality to turn things around and get out of trouble.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph we’re going ‘back to the drawing board’ in the hopes of turning things around conceding we need to ‘put three points on the board’ quickly though.

‘It`s a difficult period. We just have to regroup, get back to the drawing board, and the good thing about this game is you get another chance. We have to put three points on the board as soon as possible. It`s never nice when you`re getting beat. It`s a horrible feeling.’

Lowe went onto say there wouldn’t be any moping around though or feel sorry for ourselves as the only ones who can turn this around are the players.

The captain does feel, since the Wigan match, Blackburn have been in all matches with fine margins going against Rovers with that ‘frustrating’ but his own personal belief in the quality within the squad remains.

‘Every game we`ve played since the Wigan game we`ve been well within and been there to pick up points. It`s frustrating we`re not getting on the right side of it but I`m confident with the quality we`ve got in the dressing room we can turn it around.’

A one-nil defeat at Birmingham sent Blackburn into the international break with another defeat, which as close as it was and as much as Rovers were in the match all that will be remembered is the defeat.

If we can ‘tighten things up’ and be a bit more ‘ruthless’ we’ll be ok.

Lowe concluded he wouldn’t look to make excuses for the poor start we made when heavy defeats were suffered but after regrouping things have improved but with a bit of luck things will turn on Blackburn’s favour.

‘We started really poorly and there was no excuse for that. We needed to regroup and do something about it and I think we have tightened it up a little bit. Of course teams will have opportunities at times within games but we know we can create and score goals.

‘At the minute it seems like they`re creating one chance and taking it. It was a good finish from the lad (at Birmingham) but again when you look back we could have avoided it. We just have to keep going. It`s a long season and I`m sure the rub of the green will happen for us.’
