Segundo Castillo, the Ecuadorian central midfielder, has revealed that he is on the verge of a move to Blackburn Rovers.

Castillo’s agent revealed a while back that Rovers wanted his man to bolster the midfield forces at Ewood Park.

But now Castillo himself has stepped out to insist he is on his way.

The 26-year-old midfielder told Sky Sports News, ‘This is a very interesting step for my career because I will have the chance to be near the big teams.

‘I am very happy I am going to play in the Premier League and what makes me very happy as well is that I have been told that the coach of Blackburn (Paul Ince) has insisted on signing me, and that gives me confidence.

‘Next week I will be travelling to England. I hope to play well and open even more doors to more players of my country.’

To be fair, Juventus have been looking at Castillo as well so if we do get him then it is somewhat of a coup.
