With the international break in full flight, Vince Grella caught up with Australian Reporter David Davutovic from one of the most popular football magazines in Australia, The Australian Football Weekly.

In this interview, Vince Grella discusses his past, present and future, focusing his attentions on Blackburn Rovers and the Australian National Team.

As we all now, Vince Grella signed for us in the preseason transfer window for $ 8.6 mill AU.

Vince’s initial thoughts on his transfer

<'My move to England was interesting and a bit overdue to be honest. I think I've picked the right team, and it's not easy to pick the right team, but they're a solid club with super organisation and a new young manager who had a really good playing career and now really wants to do well in the EPL'

‘They spent a lot of money to get me here, and obviously want me on the pitch (In relation to his injury)

‘The decision is best for me and for everyone involved. If i cant perform for Blackburn, I cant perform for the national team. I need to get myself right’.

Vince’s thoughts on the style of football

‘I’m convinced i can make the transition. It’s a massive difference in speed and the intensity they play with is much higher (in comparison to Italy)…. I can adapt my game around it. Blackburns’ type of play suits me because someone’s always holding in midfield’.

As for Ronaldo, Fabregas, Deco, Gerrard, etc…

‘ I dont think I’m that much better then a lot of other players. But what makes me bigger then other players is that I’ve got bigger balls then them. When it comes to the crunch, I’ll come up against those bigger and better players, other players will S**T themselves. Thats why i wasnt scared about players in Italy. I’ve had a lot of knockers, but I dont give a F**K’.

And finally, the Emo Factor

‘It’s been a massive advantage, Emmo’s (Brett Emerton) been there for five seasons, he’s an important player (sure is) and he has his own family, that makes it easier for me. He is settled and can help me settle’

Cheers to Vinnie Grella for opening up to our reporters in Australia, and telling everyone what he really feels in true Aussie fashion ( an expletive or 2). Vinne believes he will be fit to feature against Bolton after the international break
