Blackburn got back to winning way, a first in three Championship fixtures, with a desperately needed two-one win over Fulham at Ewood on Saturday.

The reaction to the defeat to Derby in midweek was for Gary Bowyer to make three changes, once of those included new loanee Spearing coming in for his debut.

An early goal helped settle some nerves and calm us down. Having charged down a clearance Marshall (12) kept his cool to open the scoring, which would have been doubled but for the bar denying Conway a second.

This second, and decisive goal, came in the second half though when Rhodes (61) ended his goal drought to head home just past the hour to give us some breathing space.

Fulham threatened to get back into the game but the bar denied Woodrow but they did get back into the game when McCormack (66) made for a nervy final quarter of the game when he pulled one back but despite a worry or two, and a miss or two of our own to have made sure, we did enough to see out a two-one win.

Are the play-offs still on? Maybe, maybe not – we’ll need a run of wins and then we can say that they are….
