How important the late Blackburn winner against Rotherham on Tuesday night will prove to be remains to be seen but in a role reversal from the weekend loss at Watford, when we lost our late on, we secured a potentially priceless three-points….

We’ve still got a lot of ground to make up but a winner four-minutes from time gave us a two-one win at Ewood and gives us a glimmer of hope of making the play-offs.

That Watford defeat was a crushing blow on Saturday, any hopes of ‘a late charge’ to the play-offs meant we had to win this game but going into it we weren’t all that confident:-

Rotherham win 60%
Draw 20%
Blackburn win 20%

We started well but as an otherwise low key first half moved towards it’s climax a poor clearance allowed Conway (41) to beat Newton and then curl home a great effort from 20-yards to send us into the break one-up.

Rotherham pushed for an equaliser in the second half, several chances past them by before, typically, former Blackburn striker Derbyshire (72) was picked out at the back post by Green to score the equaliser.

A Blackburn winner had to come and shortly after Gestede, who came off the bench, hit the post with a header Rhodes (86) was his predatory best to poke home the winner, Rotherham still had time to grab a point but somehow Green put a header wide.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?

Select the name that you want from the list in the poll to your right, but why not also share your thoughts with us on your thinking for that person, and this latest game itself, with some views….
