The play-off push that Blackburn are hoping for took another blow in midweek when we slipped to a defeat to Derby, which saw them move into the automatic promotion places in second place.

A game that looked destined for a goalless draw was won by Derby at the iPro Stadium after two goals in the final quarter to see them run out two-nil winners….

The FA Cup win over Swansea was one that we would have hoped breathed new life into our play-off hopes but strangely Gary Bowyer decided to start with not only Gestede and Rhodes on the bench! When Gestede did get on, as an injury replacement just before the break he was himself forced off in the second half.

It was a move from the bench that won Derby the points, Bent (68) didn’t take long to make an impact when he came on to score from close range.

We fought for an equaliser but we couldn’t manage this with the points wrapped up for Derby by Bent’s (90+3) second deep into injury-time.
