With all playing 45 Championship games in the 2016/17 season, this year could see a record number of players break the 20 goal mark.
With goalscoring so far this season, the Golden Boot race was pretty much a four player race with Chris Wood (Leeds United), Tammy Abraham (Bristol City), Dwight Gayle (Newcastle United), and Glenn Murray (Brighton) best placed to take the recognition this season.
With the penultimate game of the campaign now being played though it would take a magical final day for anybody to close the gap on Wood.
With sides having one game remaining though a number of players could potentially make a late run on Wood’s 26 goals so far this year but it seems unlikely.
Short of final day hattricks, we can now definitely discount those sitting on 19 goals or below so far for the year.
So limited to those with 13 or more strikes so far this campaign, here’s how the table currently sits.
