If that makes anyway sense!

Paul Lambert is confident the signings he’s brought into the squad at Blackburn offer up a more versatile amount of options so he can be more flexible with his selections and those he has more able to fit into different formations as so on.

Hence the changeable flexibility thoughts, which might now make sense….

Lambert, ahead of the game with Hull, told he was delighted with how things went last weekend at Middlesbrough with Jordi Gomez (who marked his debut with a goal in that draw at the Riverside Stadium) at the tip of the diamond he went with in midfield with him happy at the system changes he can make and may do again at Ewood Park today.

‘That is the beauty about it, it is flexible now. I can change to whatever system I want to do and we could possibly change for this game. It is something I’ll look at but I’ve now got the option of playing a number of systems. We played a diamond at Cardiff when we had Jordan, Fode and Tom Lawrence, and we played with a front three last week of Watt, Gomez and Graham, and it was a different kettle of fish.’

With the six players he signed, coupled with those coming back (or soon coming back) from injury it gives him even more options with him also happy with the experience he’s brought into the squad with the likes of Gomez, Danny Graham and Elliot Ward.

He finished by saying he’ll be looking at all his options with most, if not all, having some part to play with a ‘gruelling schedule’ coming up.

‘With the amount of games coming up everybody is going to play. It is a gruelling schedule and it is something that we are going to have to manage. We’ll have to train right and recover right and get the ready for the games. I’ve never played 11 games in 36 days so I don’t know but it will be a tough little run.’
