Former Rovers players Gary Flitcroft and Matt Jansen have appealed to Rovers fans to get behind Chorley FC and adopt them as a second team.

Chorley are in financial trouble and have not paid their players in full for the past two weeks, and with Rovers not playing until Sunday, the two former Rovers players are after some much needed support.

Chorley boss Flitcroft said:

“I`d like to appeal to Blackburn fans to adopt us as their second team in our hour of need.

“With Rovers away at Sunderland if any fans are at a loose end on Saturday and want an excuse to get out of the Christmas shopping then we`d make them very welcome at our game with Nantwich

“If we could pull in a crowd of 1,000-plus for Saturday`s game it would be a major help at what is a difficult time for the club.”

So is your misses planning on dragging you down to the shops this weekend? Or is it a planned trip to the Trafford Centre you want to avoid?

If so, you have a great ready made excuse, go down to Victory Park and provide one of our more local teams some much needed backing on and off the field!

Rovers season ticket holders can watch Chorley`s game against Nantwich this Saturday for just £5 if they present their season tickets at the turnstiles.
