Former Blackburn Rovers striker Andy Cole called time on his professional career this week, however, this isn’t the last that we have seen of Cole in the game as he aims to become a coach.
Cole has already been linked with a return to Ewood Park as a striker coach, but after ending his 19-year playing career (following his acuminous parting with Nottingham Forest) this week he plans to take a break before working on his coaching qualifications and then he WILL be back, and maybe at Ewood?
Cole told Sky Sports News: “I am going to take a bit of time out and then I want to get on with my coaching badges.
“Hopefully if I can get that done, then you never know what could happen.
“I’ve been in the game a long time, and it’s been my passion to do well in the game, so why not.“
With all the years that the former England International served in the game, and the amount of goals that he scored (he is the second highest goalscorer in Premier League history) the striker feels that he has plenty to pass on.
He added: “People have asked whether goalscoring is an art or is it a bit of luck?
“I’ve been fortunate to get a few goals in my time so I’d like to pass on something.“
