The build up for the Sydney Festival of Football continues with a special 8 page lift out in todays Daily Telegraph (Australia).

As expected, a full page interview between John Taylor (Telegraph Reporter) and Rovers Aussie Legend, Brett Emerton, discusses the trip, and Emerton’s future at Blackburn…

Brett is currently Blackburn’s longest serving player, and is rather excited for the tour

‘ It’s something I am really looking forward to and the three games will be very valuable in our preperation for the Premier League’.

Brett believes that consistency is the key for Blackburn, who did push all big four clubs to the limit, even outplaying Arsenal for the full 3 points. He does believe one or two more players and Rovers could be aiming for Europe.

‘If we get one or two additions, we’ll be in great shape’.

As for the team and the gaffer, Emerton was full of praise..

‘ As a team, we have a very close bond and it is important for the players to have that relationship….The players know what their jobs are under the boss….He’s approachable and you can have a laugh with him, but dont get on his bad side!!!’

Brett Emerton scoffed at rumours he will be leaving Rovers for Turkey, insisting his immediate future is the 2010-11 Premier League Campaign, as well as a role in the Asian Cup for Australia.

Sounds like my boy Emerton is ready for a big season, and wants revenge against Everton, claiming Tim Cahill’s late goal as ‘ Tim’s classic tap-ins’

3 Days to go!!!!

Sas is excited….
