Canadian Starlet, Junior Hoillet, appears to be involved in a tug of war involving his agent and the Blackburn Rovers negotition squad. With the crafty winger/striker’s contract expiring at the end of the season, it appears that contract talks are continuoussly stalling

Allardyce is quoted in saying to the local press

‘Hoilett has been here a while and knows the whole set-up but agents are involved and we can’t get him to where we want him to be and that is frustrating’

It appears that the agents are holding out for a greater pay day for the young Canadian, hopefully there is still some loyalty in the game, after developing the kid from the age of 13!!!

  • I hope he’s not blinded by his agent. At the end of the day a lot of agents out there are trying to get the biggest deal for their clients not because it’s best for the client but because the amount of money they get goes up because they are likely on a % basis. Not saying that Hoillet’s agent is one of these but I just hope a deal can be struck as it isn’t that long until the transfer window does open….and when it does he can go for free which would be bad news.

  • though if hoillet does go on a free, dont we get some sort of compensation with him being under 24……or am i playing too much football manager? lol

  • lol Sas, the fee is agreed by tribunal so that we dont lose out – especialy having developed him in our academy. It will be a reduced figure from what we would normally make but we would get somet. I still want him to sign though… big time.

  • I can’t imagine that many other clubs would pay him more than what we would – he’s still largely unproven in the league, he has made some good contributions, but he really should either sign or leave – but he should realise that if he does leave, as in many example before, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. At least with us he’s playing fairly regularly.

  • I totally agree with a lot of the sentiments on here. Junior is showing a great deal of potential and – in my opinion – starting to refine some of those rough edges in his play. It is really important we get him signed up. His only other options would be Germany – so far as we know, which would be a backwards step. He has the potential to be a big player in a Prem team with us so I hope he realises that.
