With Blackburn seeing off Championship rivals QPR in the FA Cup third round Rovers found out on Monday we’ll face either Barnsley or Blackpool at Ewood Park in fourth later this month.

Should Blackpool come through an Oakwell replay with Barnsley it would of course mean former Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer will make his Rovers return as he’s now in charge at Pools!

Commenting on this draw Owen Coyle told the Official Website it was great to be drawn at Ewood.

‘Anytime you get a home draw it`s great. The fact that it`s the FA Cup – such a prestigious competition – then we`re delighted with that.’

In an ideal world Coyle admitted he would have loved a ‘glamour club’ at Ewood but if that isn’t the case the boss said you would then want a home tie with a club you feel you’ve got a real chance of beating.

‘When you get a home tie, you want one of two things. We`d love for the fans one of those big glamour clubs or if it`s not going to be, then you want a tie which you feel that you`ve got a chance of winning. Whilst we still don`t know our opponents, because there`s a replay to take place between Barnsley and Blackpool, when it comes about, we`ll do everything we can to try and get through to the next round.’

First and foremost Blackburn have some big games in the Championship as we look to boost our survival hopes so these will take priority. However, we’ll ‘be ready’ when this fourth round ties comes along with a place in the last 16 the goal.

If Rovers can then make it into the fifth round Coyle finished by saying with the FA Cup you never know what’s possible.

‘There`s obviously some important league business to take care of before that, but when it comes about it`s a game that we will be ready for. Hopefully there`ll be some excitement generated through the fans and it`s a chance to progress through to the last 16. If you`re able to do that, we know that anything can happen because that`s the beauty of the FA Cup.’
