Ahead of the Ipswich match Owen Coyle was talking about making Ewood Park a ‘fortress’ but Blackburn’s run of matches at home started with a nil-nil draw on Saturday.

The chances of winning that match weren’t helped by injuries according to the boss.

Danny Graham was already missing with Gordon Greer going off with a groin problem at half time with Corry Evans forced off in the second half with a tight groin. All of this ‘restricted us’ as he told rovers.co.uk.

‘We were beset by injuries again. Gordon Greer came off at half-time with the same groin injury that forced him to leave the Scotland camp. Whilst Corry Evans was just starting to tighten up again after what he had done with Northern Ireland which then restricted us.’

Added to that Southampton loanee Sam Gallagher was ‘feeling an injury’ late in the match too.

But with all the substitutes used he had to carry on so we were ‘unfortunate in that respect,’ he added.

‘Big Sam Gallagher in the last 15 minutes was feeling an injury but he had to play on as we had used all the subs. So we were unfortunate in that respect.’
