Rovers defender Scott Dann is at the centre of something of a transfer wrangle, with the club waiting to see if at least two Premier League clubs firm up their interest in our club captain.

It was reported yesterday that Rovers had rejected a bid in the vicinity of £2m for the former Birmingham man, but that is unlikely to be the last of activity with Norwich City and Crystal Palace both known to be keen on taking Dann into their squads.

But nothing submitted so far has met Rovers valuation of the player, who they initially purchased for £6m back in 2011.

“There are clubs interested in Scott Dann,’ Gary Bowyer confirmed to the Lancashire Telegraph.

“But until they meet the valuation that the club has got on him, and until that is put in writing to the club, it is pure speculation.”

Asked what would happen if an acceptable bid was made, Bowyer commented – “That would be a decision for the people above me to make. I could only advise them on my opinion.”

With less than a week of the window left, clubs are likely to become more frantic in their attempts to find suitable players.

It’s unlikely this is the last we’ll hear of this one.
