Danny Murphy he of Scouse descent and Fulham residence has blasted teams that are sent out wired up and to stop other sides from playing as the cause of injuries.

Angelic Danny has also cited Rovers amongst other teams such as Wolves and Stoke as the route of the problem and claimed that as long as their managers are sending their teams out with this mentality then there will be problems.

Sam Allardyce, Mick McCarthy and Tony Pulis are the guys with the insinuations against their names in Murphy’s little rant.

Danny is quoted in the Daily Mail – ‘You get managers who are sending their teams out to stop other sides playing which is happening more and more ? the Stokes, Blackburns, Wolves.

They can say it`s effective and they have got to win games but the fact is their players are so pumped up, there is inevitably going to be problems.

‘Under Roy Hodgson at Fulham, we were always top of the Fair Play award because

He wouldn`t accept stupid tackles. The technique on tackling and the pace in which some players go into tackles is ridiculous.

‘I don`t believe players are going out to break another player`s leg but there has to be some logic and intelligence involved, especially the ones who are doing repeatedly. If you are going at someone at a certain pace and you don`t get it right, you are going to hurt them. Players should be held to account for that.`

So Danny’s problem with Rovers (amongst the others) is that they are sent out to stop players playing and as a result they will break a players leg without meaning it, rough house, dirty stuff if you will.

One trip to the Premier League Fair Play Table will show that Rovers are currently sitting in a not too shabby 8th place, in the top half, one spot above a certain team called Fulham.

Who does Danny Murphy play for again?

As with Jason Brown yesterday, just a little bit of research and staying away from the lazy stereotypes wouldn’t hurt.
