David Dunn Comes Home

After months of speculation David Dunn finally returned to Blackburn Rovers on Wednesday Evening.

Having left for Birmingham City in 2003 for £5.5 million Dunn returned to Ewood Park on Wednesday for an undisclosed fee signing a three-and-a-half year contract when it looked as though we could miss out to Bolton Wanderers earlier in the week after he passed a medical and was well on the road to agreeing terms. But the former England International was going nowhere else but back to Ewood once Rovers confirmed an interest. Speaking to the official Rovers website Dunn said:

It feels really good to be back, it has been a hectic week, but I’m glad it is all done and I’m back in Blackburn.

I am back here at the club I’ve always supported. As soon as Blackburn came in for me my mind was made up.

I am really pleased now that it has all come to a head and I’ve signed that piece of paper.”

I think his re-signing casts asides any doubts that he ever had any doubts about coming home, and now that he is back home he is looking forward to working with Mark Hughes and the lads, he added:

I think the manager has done a great job here with his staff, he has brought in some great players and I can’t wait.

I’m really looking forward to joining up with them tomorrow and getting back to what I do best.”

Dunn has had pretty much three-years of injury nightmare so lets hope these are fully behind him and we see him stay injury free showing those that haven’t seen him before, and reaffirming to those of us that have just why Sparky wanted to bring you back. You don’t get much better than a fit Dunny, if he can remain just that (this is my biggest concern!) he could prove an inspired re-signing…

Welcome home Dunny!
