Day Of Reckoning For Bulgarian

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes will decide whether to sanction a move for striker Valeri Domovchiyski later this week.

The Bulgarian Under 21 international has been handed another chance to impress the Blackburn boss after his five-day trial spell at Brockhall last week was disrupted.

Poor weather and a disjointed training schedule made it difficult for Hughes to properly assess Domovchiyski last week, so he invited the 21-year-old to stay on for a second week, which he accepted.

Now the Levski Sofia hit-man is hoping to hear if he has done enough to seal a permanent switch to the Premier League at some point over the next few days.

Rovers have already shrewdly negotiated a transfer fee with Levski, believed to be in the region of £1.5 million, which prevents the Bulgarians from upping the ante should Hughes decide to make Domovchiy-ski’s stay a permanent one. Another clever move from renowned negotiator Sparky.

The rest is now down to the player, who has three days left to convince the Rovers boss that he would be an asset to his squad.
