First of all, I’d like to apologise in advance for the short yet sharp match report, yours truly aint feeling well, but is still dedicated to his job here at Vital to crack up something of a match report 😀

Anyways, it was disgraceful. Blackburn travelled to Wigan, with a win the only option for the travelling 4500 Rovers Supporters. And it was a win which realistically should have been achieved.

An opening goal for Jason Roberts got the ball rolling for Blackburn. Junior Hoillet found Brett Emerton with a neat ball in behind the defence. The Aussie hit the byline, cutting in for Jason to prod the ball home.

Both teams pressed in search of a goal, but it was the home team, through McCarthy, pouncing on a Paul Robinson parry to equalise for the home team.

Blackburn were stunned as they were by far the better team in the first half, but this was not reflected on the scoreboard, 1-1 at the break.

The second half exploded. Less then 5 minutes in, comical defending saw Wigan take the lead. An Al Habsi clearance was flicked on by Moses, sending Rodallega through on goal. Samba had left his man unmarked, whilst Robinson left his charge too late, Rodallega evading both and slotting into an empty net.

5 Minutes later it was 3-1, as McCarthy put on a juggling act in the Rovers penalty box as Jermaine Jones stood there and watched in awe….slotting into the bottom left corner of the net.

Rovers pulled one back with 25 minutes to go after a bundle of attempts. Pedersen lobbed in a corner, Samba leaping highest and into the back of the net 3-2.

However Blackburn sinned in defence again, this time it was Salgado, bringing his man down in the box, Watson slotting it straight down the middle. 4-2

Their was to be a late twist, with David Dunn earning Rovers a penalty, and converting it, 4-3 with 10 minutes to go.

However Blackburn couldnt find the equaliser despite bombarding the Wigan box for the final stages, as the home side held out for a 4-3 Victory
