Bradley Orr, after spells with the likes of Newcastle, Bristol City, QPR, Toronto and of course Blackburn, has called time on his footballing career having parted company with us.

Orr returned to Ewood earlier in the year when his year-long loan spell in the MLS with Toronto came to an end – by all accounts they wanted to keep the defender on a permanent basis but he didn’t want this and came back to England, not that he got a look-in when back with Blackburn….

There wasn’t much said but a statement on the Official Website this week confirmed we had parted company by mutual consent.

‘Blackburn Rovers and Bradley Orr confirm the player’s departure from the club by mutual agreement.

‘The club thanks Bradley for his work and dedication during his time at Ewood Park and wishes him all the best for the future.’

Following his release, and pushing on for almost two-years since his last appearance for us, he later revealed on Twitter that he had in fact decided that at the age of 32 he wanted to retire, so has!

‘As of now I am retired from football. I’ve loved every minute of my career and I’ve got no regrets whatsoever, only great memories.’

Fair play to him, he could have kept taking the money for the remainder of his contract but having decided it wasn’t for him any longer he’s bowed out now!
