Hot on the heels of Shane Duffy completing a move to Brighton a double defensive arrival was announced by Blackburn with Derrick Williams signing from Bristol City and Tommie Hoban from Watford.

Both, like Duffy, have made international appearances for the Republic of Ireland but unlike the defender who has left Ewood Park Williams and Hoban have only been capped at U21 level in the past.

Williams has been signed on a permanent basis from Championship rivals Bristol City, penning a three-year deal with Blackburn with an undisclosed fee paid for the 23-year-old. He had helped the Robins into the Championship previously making 131 appearances for the club during his time at Ashton Gate.

The arrival of Hoban is only in a loan capacity with him joining Blackburn on a season-long loan deal from Watford, where the 22-year-old has scored twice in his 58-matches for the Premier League side.

Are you happy with these arrivals and do you think Blackburn have done enough to fill the Duffy void?
