Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Derbyshire is understood to be set for a surprise loan move to Greece.

Skysports.com is reporting that the 22-year-old is being courted by Olympiakos, who have been impressed by Derbyshire’s outings for the England Under-21 International side over the past year. Derbyshire is currently behind Roque Santa Cruz (however, he seems set to leave shortly with the Russian arriving to replace him), Benni McCarthy and Jason Roberts in Sam Allardyce’s pecking order and has already been linked with a move to several Championship clubs.

It is also understood that Derbs is himself keen on making the move so he can play some regular first-team football.
