Blackburn Rovers could lose striker Paul Dickov if they do not match the offers currently on the table for the 33 year-old Scottish striker.

Dickov contract runs out at the end of the season and he has been offered an extention by Rovers but with Everton, Manchester City, Leeds United and Sheffield United all said to be interested the striker has plenty of clubs and deals to chose from.

‘It makes sense to look at any offers clubs want to put to him,’ Phil Smith told BBC Sport. ‘Any player in his position would want to do the same. But with courtesy to Blackburn, they have to be the first consideration.’

However, with European places still to be decided Dickov is unlikely to decide on where he will be playing his football untill the season has finished.

‘Obviously it’s the business end of the season and the timing of any negotiations with Blackburn is dictated by results and when everyone is ready to get round the table,’ Smith said.

‘At that point there will need to be a quick decision about if he’s staying or not.
