El-Hadji Diouf was last night accused of making a racist comment towards an Everton ball boy.

The Rovers winger was questioned by police after an incident where a ball boy threw a ball away from Diouf and Diouf is alleged to have made the comment. The Senegalese winger was preparing to take a corner at the time.

The referee`s assistant had to step in and calmed Diouf down who was losing his cool at the time.

El Hadji is not adverse to getting himself into trouble – he has been in trouble for spitting before when at Liverpool and Bolton.

A spokesman for Blackburn Rovers has stated in a press release that Diouf was spoken to by the local police force after the game yesterday.

The spokesman said Diouf was not arrested or charged as they would need to speak to other witnesses first.

It is fair to say that diouf is his own worst enemy sometimes and this is one of those cases.

Diouf is a character but the problem with that is that he can often spill over through passion – something he has never been able to control.

If it is proved that Diouf has made a racist comment then he deserves to be punished, something we can all safely agree, even if it is to the detriment of Rovers.

Not a good day yesterday at all.
