Blackburn star El-Hadji Diouf has quit playing international football for Senegal for the 2nd time.

Diouf has informed the Senegalese Football Federation he no longer wants to be part of the selection process.

The Blackburn star had originally stopped playing for Senegal in October 2007 after a Benni Mac style bust up with the coaching staff at the time, but he later reversed his decision.

Diouf’s spokesman, the wonderfully named Ndeye Dome Thiouf, speaking to Sky Sports confirmed the details of a letter Diouf wrote to the Senegal International set up – ‘(In a letter to the CNF) El-Hadji Diouf explained that he was no longer available for international competition and that he is suspending his career,’ said spokesman Ndeye Dome Thiouf.

‘He has retired from internationals, but will continue to play club football in England.’

Good news for Rovers then.
