Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn looked like he would be set for an extended spell on the sidelines, but the news is better than first thought.

A calf injury meant that Dunn had to miss the Newcastle United win last Saturday, but scans have shown that the injury is not as bad as first feared and he could return for the match with Fulham (and former Rovers manager Roy Hodgson) at Ewood Park this Saturday.

Rovers manager Mark Hughes said: “I do not think he will be out for any length of time. Hopefully he will be available this week.”

Dunny has really been in top form recently, so if he can return this Saturday it will not only be a boost to him, but obviously Rovers as well.
