Dunn signs on

Rovers have this morning announced that David Dunn will be staying with his boyhood club, after signing a new one year deal to extend his Ewood stay.

Dunn, who has been with the club over a decade in total, split in two by a short spell at Birmingham City, has made no secret of the fact he wanted to stay with Gary Bowyer’s men, nor has the club hidden that they wanted to secure his services once again.

And with the formalities now out of the way, Dunn can crack on with pre-season training and look to spearhead a promotion push.

‘I’m delighted that he’s been able to continue his association with the club,’ said Bowyer to the official Rovers website.

‘I think it is a rare commodity in football nowadays that a player starts at the academy and has a long career at the club.

‘His experience will be invaluable this season on and off the pitch, he is Mr. Blackburn Rovers.’
