Rovers have received a pre-season boost with the news coming through that the club have agreed a new one year contract with long time servant David Dunn.

Dunny has been at Rovers for just over 11 years now spanning two spells and is a product of the club youth system, and with Gary Bowyer very keen to build a squad around player passionate about Blackburn Rovers a new contract will come as a boost ahead of the new season.

“The quality and experience he brings is invaluable to us, we all know how much this club means to him.’ Bowyer told the official club website.

Dunn has been plagued with injuries over his career but had a very good end to the last campaign, playing a substantial role in keeping Rovers in the Championship whilst also bagging a famous last minute equaliser against fierce rivals Burnley.

This is likely to be news that goes down well…
