Vital Blackburn’s Bom started the rumour on the forum yesterday and I can now confirm that Nathan Ellington has joined the Rovers on trial with a view to a season long loan move.

The Watford striker is joining up in a bid to have another go at the big time. He has always been a tricky customer and has a good goalscoring record.

The striker was on loan at Derby in the first half of 2009 and he has the pace but needs to get his attitude in check as he has a history of being a bit too big for his boots. He has also fallen out with several managers.

However, one familiar face should keep him in check as he has a very close friendship with current Rovers striker Jason Roberts from back in their Wigan days.

Keep an eye on this one guys…

  • we are becoming the cheaper version of man city….how many strikers we need hahaha…only yesterday i was saying sign strikers!!!!

  • ….and clearly Bom has been listening! LOL I dont mind this as I think this allows us to let Benni or JR go if it works out. Thats my take on it. Don’t be surprised to see Gamst moving in the near future also, its a possibility apparently, not imminent however so dont go getting your panties in a bunch!

  • WTF!! He’s rubbish!! He has not been any good for years….
I wonder if Jase the Ace had anything to do with this? They were a good partnership for Wigan – in the Championship….

  • Not good enough for Watford or Derby, an appalling scoring record, why in the name of all that is holy would we want this guy? Bad enough to make Gallagher look prolific

  • the Duke and JR patched things up a while ago and to be honest, he formed a bloody good partnership with him but hasnt delivered what was expected of him. Much like the Vieri situation, no harm in looking lads.
