Marvin Emnes could be in the final throws of his Blackburn loan spell with him poised to return to Swansea after the weekend. Well, unless an extension is agreed or a permanent deal concluded.

Having been refused permission to feature for Blackburn in the FA Cup win over QPR on Saturday the Lancashire Telegraph has reported his future is ‘in the balance’ as a result.

Owen Coyle is keen on keeping the 28 year old but with his parent club paying a large share of his wages a significant pay cut would be needed to make this a permanent transfer – with him probably given a free transfer too – otherwise he’ll leave Rovers after the meeting with Ipswich this weekend.

There’s no so problem with defender Jack Doyle and versatile Connor Thomson though as the Official Website has announced the youngsters have agreed new contracts that will take them through until the summer of 2019.

Both are members of Damien Johnson’s development squad and will be hoping to push on towards the first team in the months ahead. They haven’t – Doyle has been named on the bench this season – made their full debuts for Rovers as yet.
