Signings have been like buses for Blackburn at the end of the January transfer window – you wait for ages for one and two come along at once!

Having completed the loan signing of Sheffield Wednesday’s Lucas Joao on Monday we have seen deadline day has kick off with Blackburn securing the loan return of Swansea’s Marvin Emnes.

The former Middlesbrough forward had of course spent the first half of the season on loan at Ewood Park but at the end of his half-season spell returned to the Liberty Stadium briefly.

Emnes doesn’t have a future at Swansea – his contract will expire in the summer – with him returning to Blackburn until the end of the season looking to add to his 20 appearances so far that saw three goals scored.

The Dutchman started his Blackburn career on fire with three goals in his opening five games but didn’t add to these in his next 15. We’ll hope this changes and he can chip in with goals to keep us in the Championship.

Swansea had previously denied Emnes permission to feature in the FA Cup but his loan return to Blackburn has seen Rovers granted permission to feature the 28 year old against Manchester United in our fifth round tie.
