There must be something in the water at Ewood Park as we have another injury vlow. Brett Emerton will miss at least the next two weeks of action for Blackburn after picking up a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw at West Bromwich Albion.

It could be as much as four weeks depending on the severity of the pull. Rovers are now down to the bare bones with a succession of unfortunate injuries picked up over the last few weeks.

Rovers are without Steven Reid, Dave Dunn, Roque Santa Cruz and now Brett Emerton. Throw into the mix the fact that we don’t have Benni McCarthy for the Chelsea match as well due to the ridiculous sending off on Saturday and we are robbed of 5 key players.

Manager Paul Ince, speaking to rovers.co.uk said – “I have lost Benni and I have lost Brett with a hamstring.

‘I am not sure the situation with Roque but things are conspiring against us but we stay strong as a unit.

“It could be two or four weeks, it depends what grade it is.

“Of course, Brett will be a big miss.”

This has been a blow as Brett has been immense this season and a pillar of consistency in the team.

We are going to find out our mettle on Sunday that is for sure.
