Brett Emerton is playing a blinder as he looks to return after injury and he is on course to be back for pre-season with the rest of the Blackburn squad if he recovers at the current rate he has displayed.

The Australian international, who had been up there with Stephen Warnock as player of the season before injury, missed the last four months of the season after suffering cruciate knee ligament damage, but has never let it get him down.

Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire, Super Brett said – ‘Everything’s going really well, I’ve been running for quite some time now and I’ll be looking to rejoin the team during pre-season.

‘The longest spell before this is probably two to three weeks so it’s something I haven’t encountered before during my career. I’ve been very lucky with injuries, so this is providing a different type of challenge for me.’

Good lad Brett. Crack on as we need you. We need more players with this sort of attitude.
