Contrary to speculation Gary Bowyer insists that Sheffield Wednesday haven’t made an offer to Blackburn Rovers for Leon Best.

Bowyer (upon our return from our time in Portugal where Best wasn’t invited) has told The Lancashire Telegraph that interest has been shown in the twenty-seven-year-old with an enquiry or two coming in but nothing concrete at all.

Wednesday had him on loan last season but the Rovers Manager says that they’ve not made any contract about signing him again (on loan or permanently) at all so at this point we remain lumbered with him!!

It was also insisted by Bowyer that with Best now training with the first-team again now that we’re back in the country he is still “available for selection”, which is something I somehow doubt as if he was really that much in his thoughts wouldn’t he have taken him to Portugal with the rest of the squad??

We’ve just got to hope someone does want him, however, on his wages I’m not holding out too much hope!!
