Sam Allardyce will be the new manager of Championship side West Ham by the time Bank Holiday Monday reaches the night.

Allardyce was looking at options to manage clubs in and around the Emirates and Dubai region which a well known Big Sam holiday hotspot.

But he has been persuaded to give up sun, sangria and a tan for East London and a crack at Championship management with relegated West Ham.

Allardyce has been out of work since being sacked by Rovers in December 2010 but with a full pre-season to work with it seems Sam has decided his next challenge should be to restore former glories at Russell Brand and Jeremy Kyle’s favourite team.

Allardyce told the Sunday People (yes them again) – ‘Everything has been agreed in principle and I look forward to taking charge after I have had a family holiday.

It’s always difficult dealing with the aftermath of relegation but I want to get West Ham back into the Premier League as quickly as possible.’

Say what you like about Allardyce and a lot of criticism is valid but if he is appointed as West Ham boss they will be promoted back to the Premier League within two seasons.
