Blackburn Rovers have been hit with a fine from the Football Association and warned about future conduct.

The fine, which is for £10,000 (£7,500 of which has been suspended until the 31st of May 2009) is in relation to the reaction from Rovers players after a clash between Morten Gamst Pedersen and Habib Beye during our 1-0 win over Newcastle United on the 1st of March 2008.

We have been fined for failing to control our players!!!

  • No surprises here then, the only surprise for me is that they didn’t come down harder on us (they usually do!!!)

  • Unbelieveable – so Morten is in the wrong for having his throat grabbed and pushed about… Have Newcastle been fined as well?

  • No Newcastle got off Scott free, absolute joke, how can they be expected to be taken seriously if they only punish one party and in this instance the innocent party!

  • This is incredible! The FA strike again! Anyone can see what happened and that MGP wasn’t being aggressive. This defies belief!

  • the fact that Newcastle got off and we got hit, albiet not a heavy fine just shows where the FA lie on these matters and the division in the league between those clubs that are reckoned to be bigger! Yes Newcastle have a bigger fan base and yeah they throw money at players hand over fist and yes i mite be a little bitter about them as my ex supported them BUT how can the powers that be seriously fine one club for failing to control there players when it is clear that the Rovers players were reacting to Beye grabbing Pederson by the throat, clearly seen by the cameras on the day!!!!! So how the hell did Newcastle get off?? I dont understand at all, the FA obviously needs a dramatic overhal

  • Yes it does Mikey, but what can you say about the Foggies at the FA, never played the game or any other sport, don’t know what they are doing, hence getting in Brooking to sort it all out!! the FA will say he was provoked and thats why no charge was brought on Beye, but again its double standards as always. I do remember when Nani touched his head onto another players head after the chap crushed his balls ala Jones, so why was Nani not provoked. The FA make it up as they go along, I would not be surprised if I walked into the boardroom to find a giant magic eight ball in the middle of the table with the word decision maker printer on it!!!
