With Blackburn Rovers already offering reduced ticket prices for several League and European fixtures they are doing it again!

This latest press release (below) detailing the clubs plans for further ticketing reduction has just been sent to me.

LOYAL FANS NET A WINNER WITH THE CHANCE TO SEE ROVERS FOR JUST 15!

Blackburn Rovers are urging supporters to back its latest initiative to reduce the cost of watching Premiership football – a loyalty scheme which will allow fans to watch the club’s next home game against Tottenham for just £15!

It follows the success of the club’s recent move against local rivals Bolton where home and away fans were charged just £15 resulting in an extra 10,000 supporters packing into the stadium creating a fantastic atmosphere.

Now loyal Blackburn fans have the chance to see another Premiership game for only £15. Under the arrangement supporters who use the scheme known as The Card, receive a sticker for every home league game they go to.

It means for example, that supporters who hold The Card, and have been to three home league matches, can get £10 off the cost of watching the fixture against Tottenham or Fulham.

The Card is free and open to all people who buy adult match tickets. It is the latest marketing initiative from the club aimed at making watching football more affordable and getting more fans through the turnstiles.

As the Tottenham and Fulham games are Category B fixtures, fans who do not have the Card or a season ticket, can still watch either of these games for just £15 in the CIS stand outer or the Jack Walker Lower outer, with juniors paying just £7.

Blackburn chairman John Williams said:

The Card is all about rewarding our loyal fans and encouraging supporters who come to Ewood Park on a regular basis but don’t have a season ticket.

Football still offers value for money and we want to make it as affordable as possible for all our supporters. We believe watching Rovers is best enjoyed live at Ewood rather than on a television and we want fans to continue to turn up and get behind the team.

However, whatever we do in terms of pricing for individual games, whether it is in the Premiership like against Bolton, or the UEFA Cup we are mindful of the valued contribution season ticket holders make.”

Personally I feel that with Rovers’ attendances suffering this season, this incentive along with the previous ones is a great idea, what about you? Comment below…
