Birmingham City midfielder Barry Ferguson heads back to an old club on Wednesday evening insisting that he wasn’t a flop at Blackburn.

Ferguson spent two years at Ewood Park from 2003 – 2005 before heading back to Rangers with his tail tucked firmly in between his legs.

He was hit by a knee injury during his time at the club but was captain of the side for a period.

Ferguson, speaking to Sky Sports said – ‘I was captain at Blackburn. I don’t know why people have the perception that it didn’t go well for me there.

‘Maybe it was because I was injured. I had a bad knee injury but I came back and, when Graeme Souness left, Mark Hughes came in and I was still captain.

‘I enjoyed my time at Blackburn and I thought I played well. I think if you asked Blackburn fans then they would agree.

‘I think I gave everything I had and I made a lot of good friends as well.’

The reason people from Rovers don’t get on with Barry is quite clear with is quite clear from this interview in my eyes.

Barry is an arrogant individual, Rovers fans don’t like Barry because he lied to mvoe away from the club in 2005.

He also failed to live up to the hype that he himself helped build, he wasn’t bad but he was nowhere as good as he promised he would be.

This snippet made me chuckle ‘I think if you asked Blackburn fans they would agree’.

No, no we wouldn’t Barry.
