Owen Coyle’s full compliment of four strikers back for selection for the first time at Aston Villa on Saturday didn’t last too long as Marvin Emnes was soon forced off, replaced by the returning Danny Graham.

Emnes lasted only 30-minutes before injury forced him off.

Like Derrick Williams, already sidelined himself by a hamstring injury, the Dutchman is poised to join him telling the Lancashire Telegraph he’s hopeful of good news in terms of weeks and not months.

‘It was my hamstring. I went for a scan today so hopefully I`ll get the results tomorrow and then we can see from there. I hope it`s weeks and not months because I`d rather be out on the pitch and doing what I love to do, which is playing football. I hate being injured.’

Obviously Emnes would sooner not be injured at all but this happening during the international break (initially anyway) is better than a time when there’s a full on Championship schedule.

Blackburn aren’t in action again until the meeting with Brentford on Saturday 19th November so he’s hoping to be involved, adding.

‘I won`t say it`s good timing, but it`s better to do it now than when there are games all the time. We`ve got two weeks with no games so it will give me time to recover. You just want to play games so hopefully I`ll be fit in time for the next match.’
