Blackburn’s Championship season continued with a one-nil win against Rotherham at Ewood Park on Friday.
A solitary first half goal, just past the half hour mark, when Ipswich loanee Luke Hyam headed into his own net with Craig Conway (technically) getting another assist as the Blackburn winger supplied the cross.
Rotherham looked to an equaliser, with Hyam almost scoring at the right end, and Jason Steele made a good early on from Joe Newell before the Rovers goal.
Shane Duffy could have added a second but his header was turned away by ‘keeper Lee Camp with Jonson Clarke-Harris almost forcing a late point but Blackburn saw it out to (at the time) move to within two-points of the top six!
Not only was the unbeaten run under Lambert extended the overall Blackburn unbeaten run was extended to seven-matches to move Rovers closer to the play-off places.
The other results were.

Huddersfield 1-2 Bristol City
Hull 1-0- Bolton
Middlesbrough 0-0 Birmingham
Preston 1-0 Reading
QPR 0-0 Burnley
Looking at these results the stand out ones (as such) have to be the wins for Ipswich, Bristol City and Preston for me?
Ipswich winning one-nil at MK Dons saw the Tractor Boys into the play-off places and as much as that win wasn’t a surprise in many way they did win it was another good win that sets them up nicely and saw Mick McCarthy celebrate his MotM win with a victory!
For only a second time away from Ashton Gate three-points were collected by Bristol City in a relegation battle with Huddersfield that the Robins came out two-one winners in.
Preston followed up the win at Burnley with another when managerless Reading continued to struggle (and dropped to 12th) at Deepdale with the Lilywhites victorious one-nil.
