Blackburn Rovers flop Robbie Fowler is looking to revive his career with a move to the Australian A-League.

Rovers manager Sam Allardyce released the 33-year-old shortly after his arrival at Ewood Park after a disappointing stint under former chief Paul Ince. Fowler had been linked with a player/coach role with Grimsby Town and was also linked to sides in China but the former Liverpool, Manchester City, Leeds United, Cardiff City and England International has now signed a two-year contract with North Queensland Fury, who will make their entry into the A-League this season.

Rovers took a chance on Fowler, this didn’t work for him but I don’t think that we can say that we lost that much did we, as it didn’t cost us any players and the contract he was understood to have played to wouldn’t have cost us much in terms of cash either.
