Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Brad Friedel has signed another contract extension that will see him stay at Ewood Park until the summer of 2010.

By the time that deal runs out it will have seen the former United States International goalkeeper complete ten-years at the club following his FREE transfer signing from Liverpool in 2000 (Bradders is probably the best FREE transfer signing EVER!!!). When the new contract was offered to Bradders he admits it was not a tough decision to make.

Friedel told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: “I’m delighted to have extended the agreement by a further 12 months. It was not a difficult decision to make.

“Blackburn Rovers is home to me. This is my club and I have a special affinity with it.

“When you sign with a club, you always hope that it will turn out to be long term and that has certainly proved true for me here
.”

The 36-year-old holds the Rovers Premier League appearance record, surpassing Tim Sherwood in November 2007, and has started EVERY Premier League match in the past four seasons, and I wouldn’t bet against him starting EVERY Premier League match in the next two to four seasons either as it wouldn’t surprise me if Bradders signed YET ANOTHER contract extension before this deal (or when it) runs out!!!
