Blackburn Rovers midfielder/striker Paul Gallagher has stressed that he sees his long-term future with Rovers, so he will be looking to return to Ewood Park at the end of his loan.

Gallagher is currently on loan with Championship side Preston North End until January, a move that Rovers manager Mark Hughes is hoping will benefit both the club and player in the long term. It would easy for Gallagher to give up and move on, but this is NOT what he wants.

Asked what his plans were for the future (this season in fact!), he told the Mirror: “To score as many goals as I can for Preston and get back into both the Blackburn and Scotland team.”

Personally I still think that it will be hard for Gallagher to have a long-term future with Rovers. That is not to say I don’t want that as I think he is hugely underrated and underused.
