Blackburn Rovers striker Paul Gallagher might stay at Ewood Park beyond the current transfer window, but on the other hand he might be sent out on loan again!

Preston North End have been VERY keen to take the Scottish International back to Deepdale, but as yet nothing has happened despite Preston manager Alan Irvine expressing his desire (several times) to take Gallagher on loan again.

Irvine said: “I’ve left a message on Mark’s answer phone but he hasn’t got back to me yet. Paul’s got quality and we would like him back, so that’s something I’ll continue to pursue.”

However, Rovers chairman John Williams has said that unless Rovers manager Mark Hughes decides otherwise he will remain at Ewood for the remainder of the season.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph: “It’s a decision for the manager. Mark has always admired Paul and if he feels he has a role to play then he’ll stay with us and that could happen.

“But, if not, Paul could go back out on loan. We’ll just have to wait and see
.”
